Clinger Sets American 25 km Record at USATF Championships in Michigan

Berry fourth in women's race

Results

Two athletes from USATF Utah delivered outstanding performances at the 2025 USATF 25 km Championships, held May 10 at the Amway River Bank Run in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Casey Clinger (Provo) stole the spotlight by not only winning the men’s championship but also breaking the American record, finishing in 1:12:17. His time shattered the previous record of 1:14:21, set by Fernando Cabada in 2006 at the same event. Clinger’s victory also marked one of the fastest long-distance performances ever by a Utah runner on the national stage.

On the women’s side, Savannah Berry (Orem) turned in a strong performance of her own, placing fourth overall in 1:25:42 against a deep national field.
