Jane Hedengren’s Record Storm: Every Indoor & Outdoor Mark She Set in 2025
In a single school year,
Jane Hedengren
(Timpview HS grad / USATF Utah member, BYU freshman) rewrote the U.S. high school record book and grabbed an American U20 record, turning 2025 into one of the greatest seasons ever by a prep distance runner. In total, Hedengren set nine U.S. high school records (including en-route marks) along with the American U20 record in the 5,000 meters.
Highlights included the first-ever sub-15 high school 5,000 meters, successive mile and two-mile records, and a season-closing 3,000m masterpiece in Eugene.

Hedengren recently began her freshman year at BYU where the Cougars are ranked #1 in the pre-season polls.
