Stockett & Burton Fifth at USATF U20 Championships in Oregon

Results

Fourteen athletes from USATF Utah showcased their talents at the 2025 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships, held June 19–20 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The meet brought together the nation’s top athletes ages 20 and under, providing a stage for future stars to compete at the highest junior level.

Leading the way for Utah were Luke Stockett and Burklie Burton, who each recorded fifth-place finishes. Stockett ran 3:55.59 in the men’s 1500m, while Burton threw 54.23m in the women’s hammer to secure a top-five performance. Burton also added a 12th-place finish in the discus throw (45.22m).

Other standout performances included Noah Nielson, who placed sixth in the 800m (1:49.92), and Ayodele Ojo, who was seventh in the 100m (10.44) and ninth in the 200m (21.62), highlighting his versatility in the sprints.

Additional Utah competitors posted strong efforts across the field and distance events. Presley Gray (11th, high jump, 1.66m), Cailey Bracken (12th, 5000m, 17:21.93), Abbie Scott (12th, pole vault, 3.85m), Trevor Hill (13th, shot put, 17.76m), Daniel Chase (14th, 100m, 10.71), and Cortnie Barker (14th, high jump, 1.66m) all gained valuable national-level experience.

With 14 Utah athletes competing, the association was well represented across events ranging from sprints and middle distance to jumps and throws, underscoring the state’s depth of young talent.
